Our Story
Sklar Peppler’s story begins not in a boardroom, but in post-war Ontario—at a time when craftsmanship mattered, furniture was built to last, and every piece told a story.

Founded in the mid-1940s by the Sklar family, the company started as a small upholstery workshop driven by a simple belief: well-made furniture has the power to shape how people live, gather, and feel at home. As demand grew, so did the vision. By the 1960s, Sklar had expanded manufacturing and joined forces with other respected Ontario furniture makers, including Peppler—uniting shared values of quality, integrity, and design under one name: Sklar Peppler.

For decades, Sklar Peppler became a cornerstone of Canadian furniture manufacturing, known for thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and a deep connection to local production. From solid wood casegoods to tailored upholstery, every piece reflected an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Today, that legacy continues—reimagined for modern living. Sklar Peppler honors its heritage while embracing contemporary design, evolving lifestyles, and new ways of creating comfort. We remain rooted in the belief that furniture should be beautiful, functional, and made with intention.
From generation to generation, Sklar Peppler is more than furniture—it’s a story of Canadian craftsmanship, enduring quality, and homes made meaningful.
