Sklar Peppler Warranty

Warranty Limitations
This Warranty is limited in that it is provided to you, the original purchaser and owner.  The Sklar Peppler
Warranty does not apply to furniture that has been abused or used in a business environment or for
commercial purposes.  The Sklar Peppler Warranty only applies to furniture used for normal residential
purposes.


Our warranty does not cover products sold in “distressed” or “as is” condition, products sold “second
hand” or products purchased from a retailer, or any other form of reseller not authorized by Sklar Peppler
to sell our products. This warranty is on Sklar Peppler manufactured pieces only and does not apply to
any Third Party products sold in the Sklar Peppler retail outlet.


Damage claims will only be accepted from warehouse dock. All goods must be inspected at
warehouse location upon return. No returns will be accepted unless prior authorization has been
given by Sklar Peppler.


All of the Limited Warranties set forth below are subject to these Warranty Limitations.
 

Frames
A Five (5) Year Limited Warranty applies to the inner frame construction used in sofas, love seats,
upholstered chairs, ottomans, sectionals, and sleepers.  Sklar Peppler warrants these component parts to
you, the original retail purchaser, to be free from material and manufacturing defects.
The Sklar Peppler Limited Warranty is defined by the life of the original cover.  Recovering the frame
voids all warranties because in recovering, some or all components may be changed.  This warranty does
not cover damage as a result of misuse, abuse, accident, commercial use, institutional use, or shipping
damage.  Because of craftsmanship involved and the natural materials used in the manufacturing
process, minor variations will occur from piece to piece.  Therefore, this warranty does not cover such
minor differences between floor samples and a customer’s custom order.


Sklar Peppler will pay, within one year from the date of original possession, reasonable and customary
labor rates to repair or replace the defective parts and shipping costs from the retailer to and from the
factory or a repair center designated by the Customer Service Department of Sklar Peppler, at no charge
to the original purchaser, (with the exception of being outside our service and delivery area).  After one
year from the date of original possession, the purchaser will be responsible for labor, packing,
and all shipping and transportation costs.


Springs
Two (2) Year Limited Warranty.  The metal spring systems are sinuous, wire seat springs, and are
secured by heavy gauge tie wires clipped at all intersections.  Sklar Peppler warrants these systems to
you, the original retail purchaser, for 2 years from date of original possession, against spring breakage
caused by metal fatigue or spring clips pulling loose from the frame.  Sklar Peppler will pay, within one
year from the date of original possession, reasonable and customary labor rates to repair or replace the
defective parts and shipping costs from the retailer to and from Sklar Peppler, or a repair center
designated by the Customer Service Department of Sklar Peppler at no charge to the original

purchaser,(with the exception of being  outside our service and delivery area).  After one year from the
date of original possession, the purchaser will be responsible for labor, packing, and all shipping
and transportation costs.

 

Cushioning
Conventional Cushions

 

Sklar Peppler warrants to you, the original retail purchaser, against abnormal loss of resiliency of the
Polyurethane Foam core used in the Seat Cushions for two (2) years, as long as the furniture is used
under normal conditions.  Our warranty is provided against abnormal softening of the polyurethane foam
core or failure caused due to workmanship or manufacturing defects. All cushions will soften with use
and, according to published findings from the furniture/ foam joint industry committee, up to 25% loss in
I.L.D. is acceptable performance. Labor, shipping and handling charges are covered for one (1) year from
the date of original possession, (with the exception of being outside our service and delivery area).  After
one year from the date of original possession, the purchaser will be responsible for labor,
packing, and all shipping and transportation costs. The Sklar Peppler Cushion Warranty does not
cover the fiber used to wrap the polyurethane foam core or which are in the in backs and toss pillows
from packing or softening which will occur with normal, non-commercial use.

 

Feather Blend Cushions/Pillows
Sklar Peppler provides a two (2) year warranty on the Feather Blend Fill and Down Proof ticking.  The
unique feature of a Feather Blend seat cushion is that it will flatten and soften with use and will conform to
and take on the shape of the user’s body with normal use. This warranty also includes the foam core
used in the center of the Feather Blend Seat Cushion. 
Sklar Peppler provides a one (1) year warranty on Feather Toss pillows under normal use. 

 

Mechanisms – Sleepers, Swivel Gliders, Recliners
One (1) year limited warranty.  Sklar Peppler warrants to you, the original retail purchaser, against
manufacturing defects to any mechanism including Sleepers, Swivel Gliders or Recliners, for a period of
one (1) year from date of original possession.  This warranty applies under normal, non-commercial
use.


Sklar Peppler will pay, within one year from the date of original possession, reasonable and customary
labor rates to repair or replace the defective parts and shipping costs from the retailer to and from Sklar
Peppler, or a repair center designated by the Customer Service Department of Sklar Peppler at no charge
to the original purchaser, (with the exception of being outside our service and delivery area). 

 

Sleeper Mattresses
One (1) year limited warranty - Sklar Peppler warrants to you, the original retail purchaser, for one (1)
year, the innerspring sleeper mattress, excluding the fabric cover, against manufacturing defects and the
loss of foam resiliency under normal, non-commercial conditions.  Softening of foam is a normal condition
and does not constitute the loss of resilience.


This warranty begins on the date of original possession.  If during the first year the mattress is determined
to be defective, the mattress will be repaired or replaced at Sklar Peppler’s option at no cost to the
purchaser. Sklar Peppler will pay, from the date of original possession, reasonable and customary labor
rates to repair or replace the defective parts and shipping costs from the retailer to and from Sklar

Peppler, or a repair center designated by the Customer Service Department of Sklar Peppler at no charge
to the original purchaser, (with the exception of being outside our service and delivery area). 

 

Upholstery Fabric
Sklar Peppler warrants to you, the original retail purchaser, for one (1) year from the date of original
possession, all upholstery fabrics against seam slippage, fraying, and dye transfers.
Sklar Peppler will pay, within one year from the date of original possession, reasonable and customary
labor rates to repair or replace the defective parts and shipping costs from the retailer to and from Sklar
Peppler, or a repair center designated by the Customer Service Department of Sklar Peppler at no charge
to the original purchaser, (with the exception of being   outside our service and delivery area).  After one
year from the date of original possession, the purchaser will be responsible for parts, labor,
packing, and all shipping and transportation costs.


The Upholstery Fabric Warranty does not cover fading or stains from spills such as acids, solvents, dyes,
ink, paint, other corrosive chemicals, or bodily fluids.  We caution the consumer against improper cleaning
abuse, negligence, treating of the upholstery fabric with chemical products, and exposure of fabric to
sunlight or extreme heat, since each can cause damage to the upholstery fabric that is not protected by
this warranty. Stain protection chemicals can cause latex deterioration, seam slippage, discoloration and
can damage filler materials. 


SKLAR PEPPLER CUSHION AND UPHOLSTERY FABRIC WARRANTY IS VOIDED IF ANY AFTER-
MARKET SOIL OR STAIN CHEMICAL PROTECTION OR AN INSURANCE PLAN IS APPLIED OR
PURCHASED FOR THE PRODUCT

Tailoring, Pillows, Legs and Other Considerations
One (1) year limited warranty.  Sklar Peppler further warrants, for one (1) year from original possession
date, that your furniture will be free of tailoring and padding defects.  This includes such occurrences as
seam or button failures. The warranty also covers wooden and plastic legs for a period of one year to be
free of manufacturing defects.  After one year from the date of original possession, the purchaser
will be responsible for parts, labor, packing, and all shipping and transportation costs.
A word about polyester fiber filled backs and pillows.  The particular comfort and appearance achieved
with fiber is highly desirable.  But polyester fiber of even the highest quality will pack to some extent over
time as the individual fibers gradually align and pack together.  This characteristic is not considered a
defect under this warranty.  Fortunately, the fibers can be separated by hand and “re-fluffed” to near-new
condition.  Attached backs with fiber filling are zippered, when practical, to allow easy access for adjusting
or for adding extra filling.


Limitations and Exclusions
While Sklar Peppler believes its warranty is a good one, there are some limits to it.  The following things
will limit or exclude coverage under this warranty.


Implied Warranties
SKLAR PEPPLER MAKES NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OF FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  THESE AND ALL OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE SPECIFICALLY
DISCLAIMED.

 

By “implied warranties” Sklar Peppler means warranties that the law sometimes implies to
have been given by the seller even though they are not set out in writing.  (Some states or provinces do

not allow exclusion or limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or
exclusion may not apply to you).


Place of Purchase
This warranty protects you, only when you purchase Sklar Peppler furniture from our factory
showroom in Ajax, Ontario.


Product care and Maintenance
Cushion Care and Maintenance

You can prolong cushion life and keep your cushions looking fresh by turning and rotating them regularly. 
You may also want to regulate the cushion core and polyester wrap by unzipping the casing and adjusting
the fit of the cushion core.  We do not suggest removing the cushion core from the casing as it is very
difficult to put the core back into the casing.


Fluff your cushions and pillows regularly for consistent fill distribution. Turn and rotate your cushions
regularly for even wear.  Vacuum cushions regularly for maximum resiliency. Occasionally feathers or
fibers will work its way through the upholstery. This is normal and to be expected.
Upholstery Care and Maintenance


It’s important to keep your furniture looking its best.  Diligent care should be a regular routine.

  • ï‚· Vacuum cushions once each week

  •  Never brush any fabric with a stiff fiber or metal brush

  • Reverse, rotate and fluff seat and back cushions often to retain original softness and resiliency

  • For long life, protect your furniture from direct sunlight.

 

Service
To request service under this warranty, contact Sklar Peppler from whom you purchased your furniture.
Please provide a digital photo of the defect or damage and Proof of Purchase ‘Original Bill of
Sale’. Certain defects may be repaired in your home with our authorization. If the repair cannot be
completed in your home, arrangements must be made with Sklar Peppler to transport the furniture to the
Ajax location, (with the exception of being outside our service and delivery area).  The Sklar Peppler
Warranty does not include the cost of transporting the furniture to and from the consumer to the Factory
Service Center after one (1) year from the date of original possession.
